Between Uccle and Drogenbos, Terraphile is developing an agroecological urban farm on 1.5 hectares of land: a place for growing food, passing on knowledge, fostering inclusion and protecting the living world, rooted in its neighbourhood and open to all.

2026 season
Every Saturday from July onwards, Terraphile's market garden opens its gates to you. Pick alongside our growers and head home with vegetables harvested that very day: as fresh as it gets, straight from the field to your plate.
2026 is our first growing season, deliberately small-scale: a year to get to know the land, test our practices and build what comes next, step by step.
📅 Open every Saturday from July · 10 am to 6 pm
📍 Grote Baan 19, 1620 Drogenbos
From Grote Baan 19, follow the Steenvelt path on foot to the entrance of the market garden (about 200 metres). The route is signposted. See the access plan ↓
💶 Pay on site, by weight or per item
🧺 Bring your own basket or reusable bag: none are provided on site.

Terraphile is also a longer-term project: a place that feeds people, open to the neighbourhood.
Terraphile is a Brussels-based non-profit association born of a simple conviction: healthy, local food that respects the living world should be accessible to everyone.
Aurelio Broudic is a professional market gardener and an administrator of Terraphile. He comes from a farming family, trained in organic market gardening and learned the trade on several organic farms. His conviction: a market-gardening project must bring together ecological practices, farming know-how and the human dimension.
Rooted in Brussels' non-profit sector, Senne is also passionate about the living world. As an administrator of Terraphile, he divides his time between running the association and working in the market garden. His skills in management, communication and finance are a considerable asset to the association.
Terraphile is backed by a network of partners providing guidance, funding and expertise.

At Terraphile, we grow vegetables by working with nature rather than against it: no ploughing, no chemical inputs, and nature's own checks and balances doing much of the work.
It all starts below the surface. We don't plough: we never turn the soil over, so as to preserve its structure and the life it harbours (earthworms, mycorrhizal fungi, microfauna). That underground world does much of the work for us, provided we respect it.
Our plot was a grazed pasture before it became a market garden, and years of grass and grazing have left it with a real asset: a soil rich in organic matter, well structured and teeming with life. Our first priority is to keep that fertility rather than use it up. Cover crops between plantings and mulching keep the soil covered, much as the pasture did; compost and crop rotation feed it and keep it in balance, so that it grows richer season after season. And zero chemical inputs: no synthetic fertilisers, no pesticides.
Making room for the living world on a farm isn't a romantic gesture: it's an agronomic choice. Beneficial insects naturally keep pests in check: a ladybird eats up to 150 aphids a day, a ground beetle clears the soil of larvae. Wild pollinators increase the yields of fruit crops, and those are just a few examples among many.
To create these balances, we intend to revitalise the existing pond (a watering place, a breeding site for amphibians and a natural settling area for water) and to add beehives, insect hotels, hedges, nest boxes and other shelters for biodiversity. We will also deliberately leave refuge areas along the edges of the crops, where predators and prey will each find their place.
We aim for diversity across all seasons: field-grown vegetables and greenhouse crops, to stretch the growing season as far as possible. We favour heritage or farmers' varieties, chosen for their taste, their adaptation to the local soil and climate, and their hardiness.
Beyond the vegetable garden, we intend to plant soft fruit (blackcurrants, redcurrants, raspberries): a complementary crop that will enrich what we offer and fit naturally into the farm's ecosystem.
The plot we farm is public land, leased from the Brussels CPAS (public social welfare centre), which had started a first urban market-gardening project there. Terraphile builds on that foundation.
In 2026 we are starting with a first vegetable-growing area, with the ambition of gradually extending the cultivated plots over the following seasons, adding a cut-flower patch, a forest garden and soft fruit along the way.
A market garden can do much more than feed people. It is around that conviction that Terraphile intends to grow.
Pick your veggies by subscription
From 2027, Terraphile aims to launch a pick-your-veggies scheme with an annual subscription: members would have access to the market garden all season long and come and pick their vegetables at their own pace.
Social and vocational reintegration
In partnership with the Brussels CPAS, Terraphile wants to welcome people on a reintegration pathway into the everyday work of market gardening. The market garden offers an ideal setting for physical work, social connection and contact with the living world.
Training & workshops
In time, Terraphile aims to open the land up to learning: training courses, hands-on workshops, educational activities. The land as a classroom, the seasons as the curriculum.
A refuge for biodiversity
Beyond growing food, Terraphile wants to turn these 1.5 hectares into a refuge for the living world: revitalising the existing pond, creating a forest garden, planting hedges, installing beehives, nest boxes and insect hotels, all of them spaces where biodiversity can reclaim its place.
From 2026, our field opens its gates for you to pick your veggies every Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm, at Grote Baan 19, 1620 Drogenbos, then along the Steenvelt path for about 200 metres, signposted all the way to the entrance of the market garden.
We also supply a Brussels cohousing community through a short supply chain, in direct contact with its residents.
